ICD-10 accuracy is one key for success under PDPM. Your Medicare Team must learn to select the primary reason for admission, and use correct and accurate codes on the MDS in Section I0020B to ensure optimal Clinical Category for PT, OT, and SLP components of the rate. Accurate coding of Section I also includes comorbidity diagnoses for Non-Therapy Ancillary (NTA) and SLP components.
